risk analysis

A feature of reliability centered maintenance (RCM). A risk analysis examines the higher level risks associated with equipment failures, that are often discovered while performing a risk assessment. The risks analysis process evaluates the intended functions of the equipment, potential equipment failures, the consequences of those equipment failures, and definitions of failure modes. It is usually performed on lower positioned equipment in the equipment hierarchy.
