Creating GISOBJID fields for layers manually in Esri

Infor EAM automatically generates GIS ID numbers once the two systems are fully integrated, but you must manually enter a GISOBJID number in the attribute table of every GIS feature that you want to move to Infor EAM prior to integrating the systems.

For every layer containing GIS features that need to be integrated with Infor EAM manually create a GISOBJID field.

The GISOBJID field is used to link each map feature to the EAM equipment.

  1. Open ArcMap to an existing map.
  2. Select the layer for which to add a GISOBJID field.
  3. Right-click the layer, and then choose Open Attribute Table.
  4. Click Options, and then select Add Field.
  5. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify GISOBJID.
Note: Specify the name of attribute column headers using all uppercase letters. The system only searches column headers in all uppercase letters when performing a search based on a GIS Filter.
    Data Type
    Select Long Integer.
Note: Enter a precision of 9.
  6. Click OK.
